Sharing and Promotion of Awareness and Regional Knowledge (SPARK)

The role of SDF under this programme is to expand learning between regional and national partners through newsletter publication and directory production.

The SPARK newsletter is a quarterly publication produced in Thai, Bahasa Indonesia and English aimed at practitioners of community-based natural resource management in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. For more information about the newsletter and a selection of editions for download ...

... click here.

Along with paper directories, an online CBNRM Practitioners Directory was also produced under SPARK, and it can be accessed at:

http://www.esscspark.org/

The online directory is being further developed into the Awareness of Regional Knowledge Information System (ARKIS). This 'knowledge database', which is currently undergoing testing, can be accessed at:

Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD)

At present, APWLD works with SDF and national networks in producing Food Sovereignty Resource Kits. These serve as a tool in publicizing and communicating issues related to women and natural resource management.

Asia Pacific Research Network (APRN)

Supports SDF and its networks in studying the impacts of globalization on women's labor in fishery and agriculture.

Asia Forest Network (AFN)

Currently, AFN provides funding and support to SDF with a specific focus on capacity building and community map production.
